Things To Do

Campus Martius Park is the only year round programmed outdoor space in downtown Detroit and one of the most desired locations for events and festivals. These activities provide a consistently positive image of the Campus Martius district and downtown city life. With over 250 activity days and several high-profile events, the Park leads downtown pedestrian life.

Every Day

The constant activity hub in the Park is the Fountain Bistro. Located by design at the very center of the Park and adjacent to the Woodward Fountain, the Bistro is open daily, seven days a week providing casual dining and drinks, and constant flow of activity.  The Park is also a great place to just relax, meet a friend, and enjoy the gardens, lawns, the fountains and the surrounding historic downtown skyline. The Park has an ample number of comfortable French bistro tables and chairs for visitors to use and enjoy.

Seasons

The Conservancy produces its own programming with a culturally diverse music performance focus during the summer months and holiday events, and ice skating during the five fall/winter months.

Things To Do in the Summer

If you visit Campus Martius Park in the summer you could:

* Meet a friend for lunch under the shade of the Park's colorful umbrellas

* Relax on the fountain ledge while watching the 100 water jets dance, listen to the lapping of the water and make a wish as you toss a lucky coin

* Hold a staff meeting on the Park's beautiful green lawn

* Enjoy lunch while being entertained by a Detroit award winning band

See Gardens

Park Gardens
Botanical gardens surround the perimeter of Campus Martius Park, creating a showcase of color for those driving and walking around the park and encompassing those within the park. An explosion of color is achieved with spring bulbs, summer perennials, and fall foliage. The textures of winter will add to the gardens year-round interest.
